Middlesbrough to take one Egyptian from trialling pair
tribalfooball.com - August 27, 2007

Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is interested in signing only one of two Egypt internationals training with the club.
His choice is believed to be Emad Moteab, the striker, who is valued at 2 million, and not Mohammed Shawky, the midfield player, says The Times.

Middlesbrough, Man City battle for Inter Milan's Adriano
tribalfooball.com - August 27, 2007

Middlesbrough and Manchester City are going head-to-head for Inter Milan star Adriano.
Boro boss Gareth Southgate is after a striker ahead of the departure of Aiyegbeni Yakubu to Everton.

Adriano, 25, has fallen out with Inter coach Roberto Mancini over his weight problems and is not expected to play following the arrival of Honduras star David Suazo.

Adriano is reluctant to take a temporary deal but Inter are determined to push him out.

Southgate: Rochemback happiest he's been at Middlesbrough
tribalfooball.com - August 27, 2007

Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate says Brazilian midfielder Fabio Rochemback is the "happiest" he's ever been on Teesside.
After their 2-2 draw with Newcastle, Southgate beamed: "Fabio's ball for the first goal was phenomenal. That's the kind of vision he has. The thing about Fabio is that he is happier now than at any time since he has been with us.

"He was frustrated after his ridiculous sending off in the pre-season friendly. It should never have happened to him.

"But I put him straight back into the team and he made a big impression for us."

re: GOOD MORNING.

Good Morning Ray! It was hot here today as every day, but today was a burner.
Any word coming out of UK on transfer market? I got nothing, same as yesterdays news. Kone looks to be going to Sevilla and Alves back in training with Heerenveen. I read about Gomes. Still no news on right side midfielder.

re: GOOD MORNING.

Is he the new Pally.

Middlesbrough coach: Wheater just like Pallister
tribalfooball.com - August 27, 2007

Middlesbrough coach Colin Cooper has likened young centre-half David Wheater to former Boro and Manchester United star Gary Pallister.

Cooper said: "David has been absolutely terrific for us this season.

"I've heard a couple of people say that he reminds them of Tony Mowbray, but I disagree.

"Tony was a top defender but I think David is completely different in the way he goes about his game.

"Tony was a lot more laid back but played with his heart on his sleeve.

"David is laid back as well, but he plays football from the back and is always looking to play the pass and look for runners.

"If there are any comparisons to be made, then David reminds me more of Gary Pallister. Pally was so laid back that he was almost horizontal at times.

"But then I think comparing Wheater to Pallister is a big pat on the back for the lad because Pally was a great player."

Middlesbrough want Afonso Alves price to drop
tribalfooball.com - August 27, 2007

Middlesbrough remain keen on Heerenveen striker Afonso Alves.
However, there are concerns Afonso's 6million price tag is prohibitive and he may not get a work permit.

re: GOOD MORNING.

So far so good i say.

Middlesbrough excited by Mido impact
tribalfooball.com - August 27, 2007

Mido will prove a big success at Middlesbrough, says teammate Julio Arca.

He said: "He is going to be even better as the games go on because he has not played for a while.

"But even then, he has shown how good he is. He is going to get more pace and more confidence and then people will start to realise how good he is going to be for us."

The former Ajax, Marseille and Roma frontman has shown early signs that he can take over the mantle vacated by Mark Viduka when he defected to St James' Park at the end of last season.

Boro boss Gareth Southgate said: "They are different characters and different types of player. We loved having Mark, but that chapter has closed now in our book.

"Mido is the future and so are the other players we have brought in.

"He has already been a bit of a talisman for us, not only scoring the two in two, which is the perfect start for any striker, but his response in the dressing room, the way he has got the rest of the team fighting."

re: GOOD MORNING.

Just read an article from a Dutch paper from last night. Alves wants transfer to Middlesbrough. Heerenveen holding out but teammates and coach not too happy with him "he ran out on us". I read an article yesterday that said most teammates think they would be better off without him. Even if it happens will he permit?

ray192 Posted on 28/8 6:40

Morning ray, still hot and sticky here but soon be winter! Plenty of Egyptians working here in Doha and all have a lot to say about noocastles "wonderful" fans. They have done themselves no favours ray and it seems to be reported here in the Arabic papers. Maybe the worlds 2nd favourite team will get the recognition they so richly deserve.
Just a cuppa mate back on the diet so the new shirt fits.

Morning Ray.

27 in Sydney today. Superb.

I'll have a nice strong cuppa today - something to take the enamel off my teeth!

I, like everyone else am getting a bit nervous with the impending closure of the transfer window, praying (almost religiously) that Lamby is hard at it behind the scenes bringing in the midfielder we need and the striker we probably need.
What do you reckon?

Morning Ray and everyone from a sunny scabbyborough

How are you today Ray?

Did you used to be a fisherman, its just you've been out trawling the net again and caught a few whoppers by the looks of it

I would love, love it i tell you if we were to sign Adriano (he reminds me of Keegan yer know)

I'll have a yorkshire tea and where's your assistant today - have you sent her on that 'Lapdancing for beginners' course

Nice to see Heather Mills in the cafe today, although i think inviting her round when you've got a french polisher sorting out the wooden tables could prove a mistake
Did She tell you what Paul McCartney bought her for her birthday - 'A Plane' - He got her a tube of Immac for her other leg apparently

Anyway just been told to get a move on as i have to go shopping with the creature from the blue lagoon this morning

Come On Boro

Our beloved Yorkshire seem to have hit the buffers in the Pro40 (went to Scarborough on Sunday and it was awful) but are once again top of the county championship. There was lots of connections with the number 3 at the Luton match

Luton scored 3 goals
Sunderland conceded 3 goals
