Boro launch new website in Korean

Looks like the club are trying to get a bit of revenue from the Korean Market. I wonder how much they charge them for postage?

Has DGL plastered all over it too, as if he were our star signing... bet Lamby was keeping all fingers and toes crossed that DGL would score on Wednesday so it wouldn't make this launch so much of a damp squib!

good idea, not sure whether the fan base will remain when dong-gook leaves though

Took their time but it would be interesting to know the financial impact of his signing.

"Money-can't-buy items including a signed Dong Gook Lee ball and shirt will be up for grabs to help celebrate the site's launch."

I offer 3p and a rusty nail.

Were they waiting for a goal before they could find a decent picture of the lad?

No point offering 3p, money can't buy them, are you daft.

It's better than getting a pack of cards for the minor feat of scoring through half the goal, from the centre circle (with a blindfold on).

That picture's from last season. It's got the white chest band and 888.com on it. Not sure the new sponsors will be too happy.

it'll be interesting to see if it does raise any money.Buy an OFFICIAL replica kit for 40 plus p and p or buy it from the corner shop for 28 pence.

Well done to Boro? Yeah, it's undoubtedly a good thing for the club and the town generally to be exploiting positive interest in us from elsewhere.

However, I very much doubt that this was something that was initiated on Boro's side. Korea is probably the most internet-wired nation on earth and lots of Korean companies will have been keen for the chance to set up something like this for some time now and will likely have been pestering Boro about it for a while. Mediacorp is the name at the bottom of the front page of the site rather than Middlesbrough FC, and they'll be the ones making the serious money out of this. I'd hope MFC are doing ok out the deal too.

This is a typical approach to web marketing. No doubt Boro will have an Arabic site for Egypt before long assuming it makes commercial sense.

The problem is convincing the media companies that it's worthwhile spending the money to built the website. Ultimately it's a commercial decision made in partnership between the club and their media partners.
