Anybody feel for Gareth?

I wonder what a bloke like Southgate is thinking at this time. He's getting right on the pitch yet his bosses are doing their utmost to alienate the club from the fans.

re: Anybody feel for Gareth?

this negativity is just an endless cycle

its ridiculous, someones negative and someone slags them off and someone's negative, saying that they're negative

re: Anybody feel for Gareth?

We've only had one bad game, against Wigan, the others have been decent performances, with one very good one against Birmingham.

Southgate will go along with whatever happens. He's a bit of a 'yes man', like Roeder was to shephard.

Great insight into his personality there.

re: Anybody feel for Gareth?

He doesn't need to be a yes man here, because he get's to do the job his way by himself.

When has Gibson ever interfered with the management of the team, very rarely if ever.

re: Anybody feel for Gareth?

Could you blame Southgate if he walked away from the club come next summer ? Trying his best to put out entertaining football, with little / no response from the fans. And has to put up with back room arguments. Boro are on the edge at the moment, we can tke two paths, get behind Southgate or continue to be apathetic and sit by and slowly watch Boro drift into mid table Championship side. Boro could become the new Sheffeild Wednesday.

Maybe it's one of the consequences of his Fletcher Christian role post-ticketthrowergate.

re: Anybody feel for Gareth?

Southgate went on record ages ago to say that football phone-ins are a malign influence on the game.

This current theatre is being or has been fought out in every other region of the country remember. It's a common problem. Bitter ex-playing ass-holes on the radio undermining current regimes.

The whole concept of a football phone-in show is to provide a vehicle for fans to whinge on.

Dont over-estimate the scale of this. It's sod all. Lamb and Gibson were asked, they gave an answer. Now they'll move on while Bernie, media savvy enough to know there's a chance for some martyrdom here will milk the Iriah Heep act for a few weeks.

Before Century quietly move him on.

YEAH..BUT i REALLY THINK THE MAN IS WORTH ALL OUR SUPPORT. THIS NEGATIVITY ISN'T ANYTHING NEW. EVER WONDERED WHY CHARLTON LEFT - EVER STAND IN THE CHICKEN RUN IN THE 70'S ? REMEMBER THE WAY LAWRENCE WAS TREAT ? SOME OF THEM WOULD PAY THERE MONEY THEN JUST GET ON THE TEAM RIGHT FROM THE KICK OFF. BET SOME OF THEM ARE STILL POSTING ON HERE. IT WAS ALWAYS ONLY THE AWAY SUPPORT YOU COULD RELY ON AND NOTHINGS CHANGED THERE.
