cancel your flight and re-book for next month, a blonde lap dancer is going to be the main attraction, although she might rabbit on about how poo her football team is.

I'm sat with a polish guy here in my office. Only tip he could come up with was make sur you take cash with you and not just a credit card because a lot of smaller shops only take cash.

There's a cracking Irish bar, just off the main square.

Find the Stare Miasto, the old town, and head for the main market square. Beautiful place to sit outside all night, with loads of lovely bars and restaurants.

I went to Warsaw a couple of years back and thought it was quality. Not sure what you're into but a fair bit of communist museums / memorobilia including monuments and architecture. There's obviously not much stuff that goes back before the war as the place was pretty much flattened during it. Compared to a lot of East Euro cities there are a lot of very modern sectors ie 'skyscraper' type buildings, modern shopping centres (even better than the Dundas), that sort of thing. There's one street, which I can't remember the name of, filled with really cool restaurants and bars. Prices were still pretty cheap as well. Some very good dance / house clubs. Trams are good way to get around although you can pretty much walk most places. It felt more like Scandanavia to me. Apart from that, the people are really friendly, and actually seem to want to help tourists unlike, London for example. When you get there people are more than happy to tell you the best places to go. And the birds are stunning. They do this thing where they, sort of, hold eye contact when you pass them in the street.

Don't drink the 70% vodka. Do drink Zywiec or Lech lager

Zywiec is gorgeous, all we drank in Gdansk/Gdania.

Also try a Parek or Jidla, like a polish hotdog but nice sausage in a crusty white baguetter thingy instead or processed garbage in a limp fluffy hot dog bun. Have saurkraut and mustard on it
