re: The diary of Kate McCann

Cut n pasted from the Mirror.co.uk site (and Popbitch)

"If The McCanns Confess It Only Goes To Show They're Innocent

By Fiona Carole Richard-Judy-Pearson-Phillips

AS if having to fly home via EasyJet was not hard enough for poor Kate and Gerry, they are now having to endure more diabolical speculation that they killed poor Maddy. Why? Because of new so-called 'DNA' evidence.

This is nothing short of ludicrous. I'm no forensic expert, but I happen to know that everyone has DNA. So how can we be sure it was Maddy's?

Well, apparently the latest crackpot theory is that some boffin in a Birmingham laboratory says it might be. How inappropriate to apply science to a situation of such raw emotion.

Are we expected to believe that the McCanns, who have touched everyone with their incredible sang-froid and poker-faced resilience despite the adbduction and possible death of their daughter, could have done anything to harm sweet Maddy, just on the basis of cold, hard science?

Why are these faceless ghouls in white coats playing with their test tubes and bunsen burners when their time could be better spent helping the poor McCanns, holed up in Rothley, Leicestershire, in their indefatigable hunt for their little girl?

I don't know what the doctors do in Portugal, and frankly I do not wish to know, but someone should tell the Portimao plod that British doctors aren't murderers. And before anyone cries 'Shipman', may I point out that there's an exception to every rule, and since Harold Shipman has already proved himself the exception to that particular rule, the McCanns couldn't have killed their daughter. If only the Portuguese police could apply such logic, they might have found Maddy by now.

My female instincts tell me that the McCanns are innocent, and I trust my female instincts far more than any foreign police force or hairbrained scientist.

The McCanns deserve respect and admiration for standing strong and continuing to insist that their daughter has been abducted in spite of a lack of supporting evidence and an uncaring Portuguese police force pre-occupied with solving crimes.

I'm sorry, but I refuse to believe the McCanns had anything to do with Maddy's disappearance, and I will continue to refuse to believe it even if they are convicted of murder in a court of law. Even if they confess, it will only be so they can get all of this nonsense out of the way and resume the search for Maddy from their police cells. Such a confession would only act as a beacon of their innocence and decency.

I'm sure I speak for everyone at dinner parties up and down the country when I say: 'Don't worry, Kate and Gerry, we believe in you and everything you say, except when you say something that isn't true just because it will help in the search of Maddy, who we know you couldn't have possibly killed.'

Shame on you, scientists."

No way!!! everyone has DNA? fook me.

Police to study diary and laptop from McCanns
Madeleine McCann

David Brown in Praia da Luz

Diaries kept by the mother of Madeleine McCann will form part of the investigation into the girl's disappearance after a judge authorised police to seize them.

Detectives will also be given the power to seize Gerry McCann’s laptop computer and other unidentified documents belonging to the couple.

Police believe that the items could provide vital clues about what happened to their daughter following her disappearance in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz on May 3."

I think there is a bit of over reaction to some things. Bad taste is bad taste, however no-one on here is responsible for whatever has happened.

The same things are being said in pubs, workplaces and other messageboards.

Black humour is and always has been part of British life. Without it some things would be unbearable. If we gave too much thought to what could have happened to Maddie and how it was done, we would crack up.

You are right to express your dislike of things that have been posted, and a few have, many others use the messageboard as a safety valve for all sorts of things in life.

Not worth taking too seriously and getting upset about.

Considering the grief we've had over the last 20 years accused of being child molesters after the Marietta Higgs scandal, I would have thought people would have known better than to make fun of this situation. Is the possible abduction and murder (and who knows what else) of a four year old girl, and the subsequent trauma of her family, really fair game to you lot? Was anyone who's been making these base comments similarly up in arms about the "Mido is a paedo" chants?

Given the ridiculous media circus and 4-month holiday that have followed Madeleine's 'abduction', is it any surprise that so many people don't care about the parents?

If I had a 4-year-old daughter who was abducted because I left her alone in a hotel room, I certainly wouldn't want the whole of Europe to know. I would be ashamed.

re: The diary of Kate McCann

"Given the ridiculous media circus and 4-month holiday that have followed Madeleine's 'abduction', is it any surprise that so many people don't care about the parents?"

Don't blame it on the media, people need to take responsibility for their own opinions.

"If I had a 4-year-old daughter who was abducted because I left her alone in a hotel room, I certainly wouldn't want the whole of Europe to know. I would be ashamed."

I'd take that as an incredibly suspicious thing for a parent of a missing child to do. You aren't a child murderer perchance, are you?

cloudcuckoofarm Posted on 13/9 12:22
re: The diary of Kate McCann

I would tell the police, obviously, but I would be absolutely sick with guilt.

The media abuse their position to sell papers. In my opinion they have a responsibility to educate the public about issues that matter. The disappearance of Madeleine McCann is but a drop in the ocean. Campaigning to find her will do what exactly? Remind us to check behind the sofa or in the cellar? Are our lives so empty that we have to feel sorry for two irresponsible parents who we have never met? Why not campaign about something that REALLY matters, like the government in Zimbabwe or the blood diamond trade in Africa? Something where we can make a MATERIAL difference (e.g. stop buying blood diamonds), rather than sticking inconsequential 'Find Maddie' posters up everywhere.

The media coverage of this is indicative of the fuckedup, capitalist world we live in.

Azedarac Posted on 13/9 12:26
re: The diary of Kate McCann

The average bloke in the street who reads the tabloids is hardly a mainstay of the Blood Diamond trade, or actively propping up the Mugabe regime. The papers write about what they think is relevant to their readers - people of all types have children and are worried about their safety so this is an guaranteed hit.

As a parent of a daughter, I once had the misfortune of my daughter disappearing on Seaton Carew beach. Ok she was only missing for just over an hour (nothing in comparison to Maddie granted) but the only emotions I went through was horror, shock and total disbelief, I didnt and couldnt cry. Cried for hours once she was safely returned.

Dont judge people on their lack of or showing of emotions, god forbid it was your child and how you would deal with it

Dear Diary,
Had a quick peek at Gerry's Diary today, strange I never knew he was into gingermidgetbondagewatersports, still he never knew what I was into either, which is probably why we are in this little mess now.....

Went to church for confession today. When the father asked if I had sinned, I replied "No comment".

There are 4 year old girls dying every single day across the world. You have to choose wether to laugh or cry. Personally I think this thread is very funny. People who are now claiming to be ashamed to come from teesside need to calm down and get off their high horse of morality.

Dear Diary,

Recieved all our shell petrol points back today, it was a long overnight drive to the Spanish mountains and back, might buy a new pair of sunglasses with the points, enjoyed the mountain air, though digging was hard work still enjoyed the nightime views...

Dear Diary

Must speak to the travel agents about booking up that apartment in Praia De luz for next year. After all that £1m fund wont last for ever and we do have 2 more kids.

Must mention to Gerry though that when we organise the car hire we'll need one with a bigger boot than the scenic.

Still can't believe how fooking stupid some people are. I appear to have gotten off with neglect, as some think I made a mistake rather that the truth that I'm a fooking bitch who neglected her kids.

The big difference between the Mido chants and this board, is that Mido is 100% not a pido, where can the same be said for the girls mother. She is AT LEAST giulty of leavig 3 children, alone, in a foreign country.

I still dont know of anyone who would put a 4 year old child to bed at 7pm at home, never mind when on holiday

reddybrek Posted on 15/9 10:24
re: The diary of Kate McCann

so what time should 4 year olds go to bed then? Mine's 5 and in bed by 7 very school night

Ingleby4Boro Posted on 15/9 10:29
re: The diary of Kate McCann

In your own home, on a school night, then yes, but not when on holiday. The kids were crying for long periods during previous nights, so they were obviously not tired

Day 82

Went out for a pleasant trip on a friends yacht, Gerry brought a big sack with him, full of Rocks and "stuff" threw it over the side grinning, still fishing was fun I caught crabs and so did gerry......

You sad sad sick bstards. Every last one of you should be ashamed. This has absolutely nothing to do with being liberal or pc but I never thought I'd read such disgusting comments about events as tragic as this on this board.
Anyone with an ounce of decency must feel physically sick reading this.
Scum every last one of you.

May2nd

Went to pharamcy and got 5 packets of sedatives. God knows I need a decent nights sleep now and then.

May 3rd

Maddy loves eating sedatives - as a healthy eating family we dont give her sweets but as sedatives dont have any e numbers or fat in them im sure there ok for kids

may 4th

Oh Sh^it - must do that 'sedatives can be a killer' course at work - I think its 13 weeks but I can claim a tax rebate on it

Dear Diary Eureka!!!! Richard Branson did it! No, best not say that, still all the cash he is going to give us is sure gonna help with all the facials and spa weekends I need.

If any of you have kids of your own I only wish that it would of happened to you rather than that poor child.
