re: TUNCAY upset at blockout
Every time we sign a player from overseas we seem to get this sort of story cropping up and its always from one of the red tops so no surprise. Considering he apologised to his team mates after the game on Saturday for missing some of the chances doesn't this story seem a little out of character? Also the reporter mentions he has drawn a blank so far, suggesting he has being playing up front yet in his first three games he was used on the right of Midfield.
simon1586 Posted on 20/9 8:16
re: TUNCAY upset at blockout
There is bound to be a degree of truth in this, we see this every time a new signing meets up with his intrenationl mates. Tuncay is bound to be unhappy moving from his king of Fenerbche status to the role of a sub who has yet to score. However that will hopefully soon change as he now gets a run of games and starts to find the net.

The lads are already unsettled it appears, 2 wins from the easiest start we've every had in the prem. 7 points is a very poor return. The 'lads' need to get their heads down, keep their gobs shut and deliver a win against Sunderland. Then we have the BIGGEST game of the season at Spuds, the only competition we have any chance of winning! bloody footballers!

re: TUNCAY upset at blockout
this is the problem when you bring in a player from abroad who has had a good career and he isnt getting in the team. They come to play 1st team football and if they arnt getitng it they get bored and home sick. you have to ask why he has been behind aliadiere when his goals record is so much better. He wont come to boro to sit on the bench. suppose with aliadiere out injured he will get a run in the team to show what he can do. going on his 2nd half performance at west ham he should hold his place down now.

re: TUNCAY upset at blockout
what a surprise sas backs the player not the club and the manager. He may be a fan but he certainly isn't a supporter. I'm sure sas will swear in disgust when aliadiere scores his first goal for us. This article sounds like a mountain out of a mole hill. Things haven't gone as well as he would have hoped, that is fair to say, but I'm sure Tuncay was aware that there would be a transition period. I'm sure he has talked to an ex-team mate about the prem, and so far it's been tough for him, but this paraphrasing from a second hand source can hardly be seen as a true indication of his state of mind. I'm sure given a couple more months to settle in to the side he will start to feel more cofident and complimentary.

sasboro, he's played Aliadiere because out of the two, he's been the best so far. He's in the first team now and as soon as the 12th man get Elton John to pen a song for him he'll settle down.
sasboro Posted on 20/9 9:47
re: TUNCAY upset at blockout
yep, boro have been very quick to put out a statement in the club saying these quotes are 2 weeks old.. With such a quick response from MFC that suggests it was true he said these things probably interviewed by the press in turkey. Only bit they missed out is the misquoted bits. obviously tuncay was caught out as he didnt expect his comments to get back to england. bet its the usual thing it came out on international duty. boromart, i just think tuncay is a far better option than aliadaire. his goals record proves it. hopefully southgate will give him the same chance that aliedaire has had. Just dont expect tuncay to hang around if he cant get a game. he is the sort who wants to play every week. fingers crossed southgate gives him a run in teh team upfront and so he can settle. against west ham you can tell he is a lot better option than aliadire
Corcaigh_the_Cat Posted on 20/9 9:55

re: TUNCAY upset at blockout
aliedaire hasnt exactly set the world alight. still no goals and few shots on target. funny how people are quick to dismiss comments from tuncay but then in the same paper take schwarzers comments serious. Bet tuncay didnt expect his comments to end up being leaked to the press. I'm sure he has learnt to keep his thoughts more private. fingers crossed he can now take his chance.
TheSmogMonster Posted on 20/9 10:01
re: TUNCAY upset at blockout
I think the story is made up. “I am missing my family and my friends, I don’t know anybody to talk to in England, and the manager does not even notice my hard work in training. I am ignored." His mate Emre is just up the road for a start, a journo making stuff up? You don't say. Besides as has been said, it sounds totally out of charecter for a guy who apologises to the team for missing his chances to come out with something like this. I suspect bull.
skiprat Posted on 20/9 10:07
re: TUNCAY upset at blockout
"against west ham you can tell he is a lot better option than aliadire" How is this? How can you champions one players cause over another when they both missed sitters? Why not just admit you don't want Aliadiere to score so that (in theory) your bet with Boromart won't turn out to be true. Tuncay hasn't showed us his best yet, but he now has his chance, lets see how it goes.
Boromart Posted on 20/9 10:11
re: TUNCAY upset at blockout
"With such a quick response from MFC that suggests it was true he said these things probably interviewed by the press in turkey......bet its the usual thing it came out on international duty." - words like "suggest", and "bet it's" shows that you actually know nothing and as per usual are just agreeing with any negative publicity towards the club. "i just think tuncay is a far better option than aliadaire. his goals record proves it." His goals record proves nothing, Tuncay hasn't scored in the prem, until he does nothing is proven. "hopefully southgate will give him the same chance that aliedaire has had." Tuncay has played 374 minutes Aliadiere has played 402 minutes. Tuncay HAS had the same chance that Aliadiere has had. You would have to have quite a blinkered opinion to think otherwise. Across all the games, so far, IMO, Aliadiere has been better. Other than looking dangerous but lacking composure in his hour against West Ham, Tuncay has been a bit of a let down.....but he should be given 6 months to adjust....as should Aliadiere. Then again some people wrote him off before he kicked a ball for us, didn't they. "Just dont expect tuncay to hang around if he cant get a game. he is the sort who wants to play every week." Ah so you know him then, whats he like? "against west ham you can tell he is a lot better option than aliadire" - against Fulham, you couldn't. Taking a single game as an indication of ability is stupid. If that is the case I once saw Alan Kernaghan score a hattrick, he was better in that game than the time I saw Ronaldo do fook all for 90 mins for Brazil. --- Post edited by Boromart on 20/9 10:15 ---

re: TUNCAY upset at blockout
Am I alone in thinking all three of our forwards are decent players who have their uses? I think Tuncay is a better all round player then Aliadiere but that parts of Ali's game, his off the ball running and pace are excellent. Both need to find the net currently though.

re: TUNCAY upset at blockout
nothing against aliadire just that tuncay is a better striker. Ali is more suited to a midfield role like right midfield and using his pace to run from deep. anyway lets just see end of the season which one gets the most goals as for boromart, rumour is he doesnt go to many games these days so probably not clued up on it --- Post edited by sasboro on 20/9 10:17 ---

There's probs some truth in the tuncay story but as usual it'll be all blown out of proportion. No doubt the script is carefully edited to make life so bad for the lad, but we all know as soon as he scores and gets a run in the team and we sing his name then all will be forgiven and he'll be saying how he loves life on Teesside, he loves the Turkish restaurant and how he loves being so close to whitby cos he loves fish n chips.

Pogatetz was not keen on Teesside when he first arrived. The red tops reported this. Next season he was a hero and the focus of a legendary thread on the old FMTTM site. Once he gets a run in the side, gets his first goal and gets over the difficult first few months he will be ok.

re: TUNCAY upset at blockout
The sun have obviously just picked up on the story, or been paid by the Mackems to run the story to try and unsettle us. I don't think this is 100% unfounded but I think it has been blown out of context. He goes back to Turkey to play for the national team, meets some old friends they get talking - "hows it going"..."not as well as I had hoped, I want to play more, and we've lost a couple of games we should have won" "whats the wheather like?"...."not as good as here" "how are you settling in, made many friends in the area"....."I get on with the lads, but I haven' got a house sorted yet, so it's hard to make friends when your living in a hotel". Red Top Translation = "Tuncay is finding life hard on Teeside (sic), unhappy at not being picked, hates the rain, has no friends, wants to come home to Turkey".

" The sun have obviously just picked up on the story, or been paid by the Mackems to run the story to try and unsettle us. " Wow, great conspiracy theory, didn't see that one coming. With MFC coming out with an immediate piece on it, the quotes were hardly made up now, were they? Shouldn't we all just accept that he was irritated to not be picked, is feeling a bit homesick and had a whinge which he didn't expect to be so widely reported. He's gone from a hero to a squad player, he's taken a bit of time to get used to the Premiership, and he doesn't really know anyone or speak the language. Oh, but he's got Emre up the road? First I've heard of them being bestest mates.
