Perhaps someone like Shaun71 could do the stats, but i`ve a strong feeling that LDG must by now have set a new Boro record for the number of minutes a striker has been on the pitch without scoring. I mean, if you add up all his first team appearances he must be up to about 10 hours of play without a strike. Even Ricketts would have netted in that time. | |

Freak result. Happens in football sometimes. Its 38 games for the PL season, not just the one. And in any case, Derby getting 3 points against THE MIGHTY TOON, does your lot no favours, does it? Considering relegation favourites Derby showed you a lesson the other week I'd shut the fook up our beloved Geordie friend also add to that arsenals reserves giving them a spanking too the other night and dont come back with it was most of there first team there were 2 in there from the first team thats all oh and how is sicknote apart from straining himself whenever he collects his paycheck how long will he be having a break for now anyway he wont be alone for long in the warmth of the treatment room the weather is starting to get a bit nippy now viduka will be keeping him company soon As for lee i thought he did ok last night he's defo not a striker you can play up front on his own and last night made that glaringly obvious things improved after craddock came on but both again are not going to create anything with there backs to goal get off his back lets wait and see when mido is back how he does | |

agree Davenport was poor but he had a decent track record at Forest and at least he was a "footballer" whereas Lee is not | |

mr jellylegs davenport. as much upper body strength as DGL. got introduced to the crowd before a win over millwall. we all though we had made it by spending 750k on a manutd striker who had played for england. he looked like russ abotts younger brother. Unfortunatly he played like him. sadly he had the last laugh when scoring against us at roker park how many did he score for us. | |

I think it took Dav 10 full games to get off the mark. Ricketts took over 3 months, though he was unfit, so didn't play regular during that time. | |

regardless of how long it took Dav Ricketts etc to score, at least they were recognised footballers Lee is not, never has been , and never will be a footballer of any professional standard in any position. might have done ok in korean league but not here | |

gerd_muller, i agree. this is a case where a work permit should be stricter. No way couldnt we find a european striker just as good as him good point bandito, the more i think about the more baffled i become that we signed him. We signed him for only 18 months and it took him supposedly 6 months to get fit. so why wasnt this spotted in his trial and why rush in and buy him in january if he wasnt match fit? I am sure there is more behind it than meets the eye on why we signed him | |

It's been mentioned many, many times by borojap that their fans don't just go out and buy anyone's shirt just because they play in the Premiership so it was obviously a footballing choice us bringing him here. We all thought he looked decent on the Youtube clips we seen of him, the club must have really only had similar to go on because he was injured for a long time before he signed for us so they couldn't see him in action. A bad mistake signing him, but all players are risks when buying them. | |

Davenport was an awful striker although he was ok on the wing. DGL is nowhere near him YET for top flight mins without a goal. DGL has gone 422 prem league mins without a goal = just over 4 and a half games. | |

slag him off when he leaves...ffs get behind the lad he did pretty well last night...won more than his fair share of headers...showed willing...never easy up front on your own and when the midfield don't give much of a supply. | |

it annoys me at the fact we bought him, and if you consider who else was available during the summer, Santa Cruz, Healy etc, but saying that, we did sign him as back up if you think that at the time we still had Viduka and Yakubu. Not good enough on the evidence of what i've seen, but we have to at least get behind him if he's on the pitch. | |

I don't think he's had 10 hours of play yet, he's really not played very much at all, fair enough he hasn't made any kind of impact but he's not played enough to justify the criticism he gets from most people. | |
