just had my first ever parmo

it was ok.

although a slab of chicken with a load of melted cheese on top is hardly a culinary masterpiece

re: just had my first ever parmo

When I make my own parmos, I add a bit of Stilton to the cheddar cheese I melt over it.

Posh but nice.

And your 1st Parmo ! Where have you been? Didn't it occur to you to taste one before now?
I doubt if anyone else on this board hasn't yet tasted a proper Parmo.

Anyone ?

Mattyk50 Posted on 30/9 20:04
re: just had my first ever parmo

ive never really fancied one, as they always look like a sickly, fatty mess!

there was nothing else on the menu that took my fancy today though so i had to take the plunge!

re: just had my first ever parmo

Try a GiGi's hot shot parmo, it is sublime

radiogaga Posted on 30/9 20:15
re: just had my first ever parmo

Some people think the parmo is a rite of passage rather than just another unhealthy food idea.

Riggotts_Missus Posted on 30/9 20:36
re: just had my first ever parmo

The Treebridge do fantastic little parmos on sticks at functions. A proper Teesside wedding .... little parmos served at the evening do - cracking.

Mattyk50 Posted on 30/9 20:37
re: just had my first ever parmo

haha that sounds quite funny!

radiogaga Posted on 30/9 20:40
re: just had my first ever parmo

"parmos on sticks"

Pretentious.

Sounds like a Nunthorpe liberals idea. With wine of course.

I don't mean to offend.

But Parmos are pretty rank.

radiogaga Posted on 30/9 20:45
re: just had my first ever parmo

I thought it was white with chicken?

I wonder how many 'F' words Gordon Ramsey would use to describe a parmo?

Mattyk50 Posted on 30/9 20:46
re: just had my first ever parmo

They are the Teesside equivalent of Doner Kebabs.

Best eaten when falling over drunk. They stabilise you.

re: just had my first ever parmo

Gibbo don't you live down south?

I have to say, all the mates i've brought home from uni for nights out absolutely love them. If you go to the wrong places, there are some pretty bad parmos to be had mind.

grantus Posted on 1/10 12:20
re: just had my first ever parmo

It's not just outside of Nunthorope though, is it?

It's just outside of Stokesley and Great Ayton.

Pork is the way forward. Although, The Buck in Ayton does a nice chicken parmo. Bit of a ladies' portion though.

rick4974 Posted on 1/10 12:23
re: just had my first ever parmo

pork has always been the way forward.

the fox covert = best parmo..........ever. even our lass likes them from there.
