I think the way they disposed of the skunks last week will give them a real boost, and after Schwartzer attempts his first punch, it'll be floodgates!

Damage limitaion springs to mind.

It's possible, we'll just have to weigh in with a good rear-guard action plan.

We can't be any worse then we were last season can we?

One of the worst performances i've ever seen.

re: Are Man City going to tear us a new bumho

last year you scraped a 1-0 if i remember correctly, now its one of the 3 best teams in the premiership against the worst team in the prem(look at your fixtures compared to the teams below you easily the easiest)

7-0 at best for boro

Let's hope our players and manager don't give up as easily as their fans.

I dont think we'll score as many as seven.

I think if we make it difficult for them and not give them the space to play then we'll frustrate them and hopefully the game will go in our favour.

It will be a difficult game but we need something from it particularly with the fixtures we've got coming up

I think we'll do OK. Not sure where our goals will come from so we may have to play a bit defensive

The pressure is on them to begin with - we start with a point.

We have to show a bit more battle in midfield and improve our finishing. City look good of late, but they are no world beaters.

I think we'll be defensive like a nervous tortoise, but steal a 1-0 win like we did four seasons ago.

re: Are Man City going to tear us a new bumho

hello gang, city fan here, the post by the guy who says you start with a point is spot on, and the pressure is now on us, as regards the money from the thai guy well its true we would be in the mire without it, however, steve gibson has ALWAYS had money, its just his managers that have let him down, i think it would be worth your while to lose this today while its still early enough for you to sack southgate and get a top man in place, nothing against him its just that the prem is no place to cut your managment teeth, we loved stuart pearce but like southgate he was no where near ready. all the best, after todays game of course, i go 2=0 city.
7=0 ?????? whats that all about?.

skiprat Posted on 7/10 11:04
re: Are Man City going to tear us a new bumho

The problem is though jessisblue is that no "top" manager, especially someone at the level of Sven would ever join Boro to be a manager.

When we didn't have a manager people were throwing all kinds of ridiculous names into the pot such as Gus Hiddink. No chance on Earth of getting a manager in like that so if we got rid of Southgate we would end up with someone akin to Howard Wilkinson.

Gibson obviously sees something in Southgate and we ARE playing better football, we're just not getting the results because of silly individual errors.

boro 4/1 worth a dabble that like,...0-2 to boro.....

re: Are Man City going to tear us a new bumho

I'm confident about today, we just lack a proven Premiership goalscorer, but like I said in a post yesterday, we've got Downing and O'Neil in the side who will create chances that Craddock/Gook/Tuncay, whoever ends up playing, will put away.

Have a bit of optimism lads, surely you must have learnt one thing about the Boro is that they always throw up a surprise when least expected.

I'm going 1-0 Boro.
