| Carpaccio`s Raided Lats night | |
I know a few on hear frequent Carpaccios, the excellent Italian on the corner next to the Arc in Stockton. I was sat in there last night and six uniformed coppers came in with two other blokes in plain clothes with stab proof vests on. They grabbed the manager who was just by our table and said (pointing to their plain clothes lads) "these two are from immigration - they`ve received information that you are employing illegal workers and have a warrant to search the premises". They all trooped off to the kitchens and brought out three frightened looking far Eastern blokes and sat them down at a table and started going through loads of questions/paperwork with them, photographing them etc. All this happened as we were getting ready to leave, so we didn`t get to see the outcome as to wether or not the three blokes got carted off. I`m all for the deportation of illegals, but i have to say i felt sorry for these 3 as they looked terrified. Typical that it`s those who are out grafting who get rumbled, rather than those stay on their arses claiming benefits. | |

Well fancy that! I used to go to Carpaccio's on an almost fortnightly basis, but haven't been for ages. Hope it doesn't get shut down! Do they still do Pate on toast with red onion marmalade for a starter? Mmmmmm. | |
