I think it's a good idea. I don't see why all the Christians in this country think they own the place. Where's the national holiday for Hannukah? Maximum Christmas holiday should be just one day (25th) and they should try to put it on a weekend. Absolutely no need for children to have a long school holiday in December. | |

I would guess that there are more practising muslims in this country now, who goes to church any more? Many churches are closing or being sold off to other faiths, most people I know are atheists. | |

Calm down guys. Christmas is not being banned. Why oh why do people keep reading the Daily Mail when it has such a clear agenda. They based this on a report by a far left wing think tank that suggested other cultures festivals should be celebrated in the same way as Christmas. Nobody in goverment has supported the report. | |

I think their proposal is great. Here in Indonesia, we have public holidays for Christian, Muslim, Hindu and Buddhist festivals. We even have one for Ascension Day! Add Jewish ones in UK and it'd be great. When do the Jedis celebrate the demise of Darth Vader, as there were more Jedis than Jews in the last census? | |

I think it's more like 1,400 years. Over 70% said they were Christian on the census form. It's a popular holiday regardless of personal faith, so no need to change. | |
