All these Boro Books That Keep coming out....

I see Brownlie is launching his latest opus, and the Boro A-Z is also coming out (Which is surely just a re-hash of Boro - a complete record, with the exception of the players from the past 5 years or so ?)

Is there still a market for these? I mean how many times do we need a potted biography of Bernie`s career, or to hear about Cardiff yet again. Seems to me like all`s been said that needs to be.

Doom to Boom, Goals Glories and Inside Stories, Tales from the red setee, A Millers tale............Do we really need more Boro books telling the same stories over and over again ?

But they're not all the same.

What book is even similar to Brownlees book, for example ?

re: All these Boro Books That Keep coming out....

Well he`s already told us about the Uefa cup run in one book, all about the Boro TV Channel in another.......Is he planning a book on every chapter of his life?

Brownlee seems to be doing quite well off the back of the boro at the moment.

when is his autobiography out?

Next book out is DOOM TO BOOM TO DOOM

re: All these Boro Books That Keep coming out....

What can be left to be said by Brownlee ? It`s all been said before, either by him or by others

Presumabley he`ll cover the Charlton era (done in "Charltons Champions"), Liquidation and subsequent rise (Done in "Doom to Boom"), Cardiff (done to death by everyone), The Euro adventures (Done before in his own book).

I`m all for an exciting new book, but this sounds like yet another re-tread on subjects we`ve read about several times already. Seems as if Brownlie bashes out a new efforet every 6 months and Mugs like Lizard`s Jumper gladly hand over £20 to read a slightly different version of a story they`ve read a dozen times before.

re: All these Boro Books That Keep coming out....

I agree with what you say Archie, but there is a simple solution, if you dont like it dont buy it, there is obviously a market for the books or they would not continue to sell them.

re: All these Boro Books That Keep coming out....

But it's not the same though is it.

It's like saying you need only read one book about the 2nd world war, as they're all the same and been done to death.

Ali's latest book is a fine read and the CD is even better!

In Brownlee's Road To Eindhoven I use one of the photos in there, from Ostrava, to keep the kids away from the fireplace.

I`ve no intention of buying one.

It`s like Oasis. If you`ve got the first two albums, you don`t need to buy any others, as you know what they are going to sound like before you put them on.

So Lizards, you reckon Brownlie is going to come up with lots of fascinating revelations that no one has ever heard about the club before?

Hmm, Lizards, that'll be me then.

re: All these Boro Books That Keep coming out....

what happened to the other bloke who used to do all the boro stuff?

I heard next book is going to be from eindhoven to colchester in 600 days

re: All these Boro Books That Keep coming out....

I doubt it very much, but then I wouldn't expect him to.

Does every book you read, and I'm not talking about your pop-up books here, astound you with revelations every time you pick it up.

Would the first UEFA book have produced any stunning revelations, after all we know how it ended ?

However it will no doubt prove mildly entertaining, and that's why I'll buy it.

Ali's book is a recollection of his 25 years commentating on the Boro and, as such, would never claim to be anything suggesting "revelations" about the club. BTW, its only £12 not £20

git_boy - "the ultimate guide to anal sex for men?" - I'm a very good friend of Mr Brownlee, whatever are you suggesting

Ali's book launch last night at Rigotoni's was an enjoyable time especially as I managed to get my photo taken with the legend, and my hero, Big John Hickton.

re: All these Boro Books That Keep coming out....

the good thing about Ali is when you are travelling with him he is exactly the same as he is on the radio. "good morning Mr bandeira, and what a fine brisk morning it is as we pull up into the car park, cars everywhere, the birds are singing, the trees are blowing and the sun is shining, boro will be lining up in red shirts, white shorts and red stockings"

he should be a poet
