Off to Basle in the morning

Pity it isnt for the same reason as I last went there.

God I miss the UEFA cup.

What are you going for? I used to live near there.

re: Off to Basle in the morning

Just a night out with some of the Mrs's friends who live there.

Nice city I I remember correctly, though I cant say I enjoyed it that much following our hammering and not knowing what was to come the week after.

re: Off to Basle in the morning

It's a nice city but it's the most industrial city in Switzerland.

re: Off to Basle in the morning

Lausanne is the coolest place in Switzerland to hang out.

"It's a nice city but it's the most industrial city in Switzerland."

Yeah, but they manage to keep the industry just outside the town so I actually think the town centres a pretty nice place to be.

I love Zurich though for the best place in Switzerland, possibly the best European away game I went on.

re: Off to Basle in the morning

We couldn't get accommodation in Basel because of a clock convention no less, so we stayed in Zürich again, which I like very much.

re: Off to Basle in the morning

Zurich is ok, just typically too German. The chicks are too frigid.

re: Off to Basle in the morning

Yeah neither could we, so we ended up staying in our mates spare room.

In my humble opinion, it's a toss-up between Luzern and Lugano as to which is the nicest city in Switzerland.

re: Off to Basle in the morning

Zug is very, very nice but also very, very boring.

re: Off to Basle in the morning

I used to live in a place called Pfungen, about 7 miles from Zurich.

Zurich is a class city, i lived there when the geordies played Grasshoppers in the UEFA 8 years ago, the vvankers totally trashed the city.

re: Off to Basle in the morning

I saw a Boro lad throw a kebab wrapped on the floor and it looked bizzare on a otherwise perfectly clean street.

re: Off to Basle in the morning

Yeah they hate litterbugs there. I would move back tomorrow given the chance.

Is that private car collection still open to the public, I forget the name but the guy has something like 6 of the 9 Bugatti Royales ever built?

re: Off to Basle in the morning

remember to exaggerate your best teesside accent and promounce it basil as in the fox and not barl as you should pronounce it.

onthemap Posted on 16/11 14:38
re: Off to Basle in the morning

It's pronounced Basil or Barl in various countries. Not a Teesside thing.
