Ameobi? Thats got to be a joke. We need a proven 25 goal a season man, not another injury prone enigma. Then i read this: "According to reports in the Middle East, Boro are interested in Saudi Arabian striker Yasser Al-Qahtani. The 25-year-old, nicknamed ‘The Sniper’, finished as joint top scorer at the 2007 Asian Cup." If that doesn`t have LDG MkII written all over it then i don`t know what does. Mind you, if he really was a sniper he could take a few of the underperformers out. And now he`s saying Johnson won`t automatically get a game at Boro. So why bring him back? We are desperate for goals. If you are not gonna play him, you should have left him where he was. Rant over. | |

RE the bit about johnson i would reseve judgement to how we line up on sat and see how he is played, as only then you can you comment as until then its all paper talk but i agree we brought him back so we could play him, but like i said wait till sat. | |

If it's in the Gazette it's probably at best a smokescreen, that or just utter rubbish. If however there is any truth in the Amoeba rumour, we are already preparing for the championship. | |

Archie_Stanton1 it says according to reports. Not Middlesbrough confirm. Why would Southgate tell anyone their place was gauranteed.It would hardly keep someone trying to their maximum. There you are you can love Southgate again. | |

johnson will start on saturday. just southgate is saying he may not plauy to lower peoples expectations and put less pressure on johnson in the build up to the game. probably switch downign to the right. going to be good to see how downing reacts if johnson plays well and gets more attention than downing | |

I havent seen us actually sign Ameobi yet, so until that point i wont be whingeing about it. People need to stop being so blind about the situation. Injuries have been our problem this season. Just wait until we have fit squad and see what happens. | |
