Ikita for sale

Due to a change of jobs my sister is having to sell her Ikita. He has just turned 1, he is KC Registered, has champion bloodline with all the papers to prove this and is yet to be neutered. He is excellent with young children and is a really nice natured dog. He cost £800 a year ago and she is looking for £400 O.N.O for him now. Anybody interested give me a shout back.

(Stockton area)

Whats an Ikita?

re: Ikita for sale

It's a dog the Japanese use to hunt polar bears; would eat a pit bull for breakfast, beautiful looking animal, have only ever seen them in all white (don't know if they are all white) - pure muscle and if a pure breed could be worth a fortune in stud!

Are they the ones with the sticky up tails...so to speak.

re: Ikita for sale

Their tails kind of curl. They have a huskie look about them. He is similar to this dog in colouring although he is a bit more gangly looking as he hasn't filled out yet.

The breed is called Akita.they are commonly known in laymans terms as japanese fighting dogs. i fear at £800 the dog was overpriced, probably from some money making puppy farmer.these dogs are very very quiet, they rarely bark, they are quite literally "silent but deadly",i remember the one 2 doors down from me walking down the road with a terrier in its mouth, the owner said she wouldnt let her grandson anywhere near it as she didnt trust it.they do not take well to other animals, especially dogs at all.as for selling it,along with the usual "good with children" and "champion bloodline bollx" statements, yer right.trying to pull a few quid in for xmas are we.

have to agree with borobornandbred.

akita's have only been 'domesticated' in recent years and so still display many of their wild charcter traits. they do not make good pets at the moment, and if you have children then forget it.

they are very head strong animals and take a lot of training and need to be taken to socialisation and other classes.

they were bred for fighting and this is their main instinct; they look like nice but do not have the correct temperament to make a family pet at present.

i'd steer well clear of it.

and ffs just go to sadberge or something - hundreds of dogs/puppies that need rehoming. i can never understand why people pay for a dog.

"silent but deadly", knowing the dog personally that did make me smile, no matter how much bad press the breed has had i know the dog personally and he as soft as shoite and adores my sisters 5 year old boy. I had the same feelings when she bought the dog, that it wasn't the right sort of dog to have around a kid due to the bad press but the dog has proved me wrong to be fair. All the papers and the bloodline i don't know about, that's just the information my sister passed on to put down here.

The dog's only waiting for the lad to fatten up a bit before he eats him.

re: Ikita for sale

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NO1 TO BUY THIS DOG. THESE TYPE OF DOGS DO NOT LIKE CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP AND ARE TEMPERMENTAL AT THE BEST OF TIMES. THIS IS HIGHLY LIKELY TO END IN TEARS
