Mobile Phone: What's the best deal out there?

I'm curently with Orange on a contract, they're having my eyes out so I don't want to go with them anymore.

I want a new contract.
I'm more interested in Texting than talking.
Are 3 any good?

Help Please.

go to T_MOBILE on a Flext contract.

you get an allowance so it doesn't matter if you text or talk more, its all deducted from the monthly allowance. which is dependant on how much you pay a month (i.e 35 pound per month gets you 180 of allowance which is 1800 texts, or 900 minutes, or any mixture of the 2).

Been with them for couple of years now. no major prob.

my experience with '3' is that the signal is not too strong and its a nightmare to get through to anyone in customer services that can help you. Long contracts aswell.
if you can get credit O2 are good, especially the web deals. it all depends on what phone you want and how much you wanna spend. with 02 i pay 35 a month and get 500 cross network minutes and 200 texts. that is on a 12 month contract and the sony k810i phone.

Two paper cups and a length of hairy string.

If that don't work, try shouting.

Mikeboro,3 take their signal using oranges masts, therefore it is of the same quality as oranges.ive been on 3 for my phone for 3 yrs.i threatened to go pay as you go so they gave me a free year..honest 240 credit,300 mins a month, much more than i use.im now on 15 a month for 18 mths.the 300 mins is either talk, texts or a mixture,a text equals a minute.also 300 3 to 3 mins as well, takes some beating.i pay for my wifes orange phone,it was 40 a month,i threatened to leave last month,i told them to match 3s offer, they said they coludnt,i rang them back later for a pak code as i was going to take my number with me,guess what,no bother mate,15 quid a month, similar deal as 3,the saving is paying for my gym membership.be tough as they dont like losing people, call their bluff and they will give you what you like.

Anyone who pays more than 10pm for a contract is a fool. Try the internet, not high street shops.

Don't choose T-Mobile. Their reception is about as good as if Merson, Ziege, Kirsty and Phil went for a pint in The Zetland. Or something.

re: Mobile Phone: What's the best deal out th

As far as i am concerned the best receptions in the country are 3 or O2. I thought 3 used O2 as their back-up service. Maybe it changed without them telling me
I regularly travel up to Aberdeen and never have problems on the way up.

3 do "unlimited" internet as an add-on for 5 a month, so you can do all your skype, msn, yahoo, boro nation and all that malarkey for not a lot extra. Instant messaging and VOIP are the future, not SMS and MMS

The only drawback with 3 is the selection of handsets. Best cheap offer I know of are the Skype phones they do. I think they are about 50 each. As long as you top up a tenner a month, you can chat away to your hearts content on Skype as much as you like. Am sure the kids will love them for christmas

3 have now changed there backup service to Orange. They also offer the Instant messaging and Skype service without the need for the internet add on according to their website (depending on phone).

done further checking and it appears as though 3 phones use O2 and Orange both as backup options. Even better

look at the SIM only fixed payment deals eg 15 month gets 200 x net minutes, 400 txtx, 20 gets 400 mins 1,000 txt's also both unlimited minutes to O2 phones!
forget 35 a month 12-18 month contracts and new phone etc.
similar available on Virgin
