Brilliant, now with scoceas amazing 'luck' concept, i have a great way to win our next 30 games, just tell the players to go and see gyspy rosia ann lee or whatever there all called and well all take 4 leaf clovers to the next home game, or horse shoes etc

happy days

Well it sounds like we were. Didn't go but read 2 reports and we had all chances, they had 2. Look at the stats, more shots, better % passing, tackling, possesion and territorial advantage. We didn't finish our chances but overall I'd say that's unlucky against a very good side at present...

So do you mock anyone that dares to disagree with you?

We were Everton's equal, we had better chances than they did and there was a deflection into Johnson's path for their goal.

Is it really a stretch for me to say we were a bit unlucky today?

neilg Posted on 01/01/2008 19:13

stretch wot ya like but we still lost!

Scoea is perhaps right but this amount of bad luck has to come from somewhere.
Maybe Everton just weathered the storm then stepped it up?

Luck is the scraping the barrel for excuses. Everton deserved the points.

i have never at any point mocked anybody, i merely want to understand what you mean by 'luck' as if its a real life entity that actually exists

and you can't, can you?

You went to the match but it doesn't mean that your opinion is firstly right, or secondly that you're not a pr*ck...

Luck is one of those concepts that can only be applied sparingly though. When we played West Ham away I genuinely thought we'd been unlucky, however as this continued for the next 3 months, patterns start emerging and firmer, more tangible reasons for our misery appear.

Today was a return to the dark days and was down to a lack of quality rather than a lack of luck.

It's quite simple Dude, get a dictionary.

neilg Posted on 01/01/2008 19:17

never mind luck we were sitting clucks 2 day!!

The_Dude Posted on 01/01/2008 19:18

see, id say a shot that was going in until a t-rex emerged from a time warp and blocked it on the line as bad luck, however, 2 players from the opposing team making an error 9 year olds would be ashamed of and passing the ball straight to an oppositon player as simply bad play

im sorry, i cant buy into your 'luck' concept

no worries

The_Dude Posted on 01/01/2008 19:20

no need for an insult mate, but i was merely pointing out a fact, i was at the match, and your were not, therefore, id like to think i would have an infinitely better idea of how the match went than you

im sorry if you somehow think different, can see how like

Bad luck is when your best striker is injured, nothing you can do about that.

Bad management is when the striking options are DGL or Ali. Nothing you can do about that either, if you accept bad management that is.

Apologies the Dude. I just don't like it when we lose when we've played OK and maybe deserved something and people are proper having a go and just can't accept that some days your chances go in and some days defenders get a slight touch to keep it out and then the oppo goes up the other end and slots one in clinically...
