A couple of years ago guys at work were getting all excited, kept saying "It's cheltenham, baby!!". I told one of them to be sensible as he gets silly. Two hours in I texted him and asked how it was going and got told to fuÁk off. Have to love racing.[:D]

Anyway:

1.30 Spirit Son
2.05 Captain Chris
2.40 Great endeavour
3.20 Peddlers Cross
4.00 Garde Champetre
4.40 Sparky May
5.15 Quantativeeasing

Be sensible.[^]

willmunny - PaddyPower have been advertising the same offer for a couple of weeks, which makes me wonder what's wrong with Cue Card?[?]

BoroLewis Posted on 15/03/2011 13:18
The official CHELTENHAM Thread

There won't be anything wrong with Cue Card, the reason the bookies do this offer is to try and balance the books and get people backing other horses, they don't want everyone backing cue card and if it wins they lose a fortune, whereas if people are backing other horses and cue card does win atleast they only have to give them there moeny back which theyll probably lose later in the day anyway, its all about balancing the books for the bookies !

I thought alot of us had that then with spirit son, Al Ferof came from the clouds, beaten out of sight by Cue Card in the bumper last year but completely different a year later, all the stats were against Cue Card, won the bumper, favourite and hasn't run for 94 days, gutted about spirit son !

I might be wrong vb, but I think you have 2 bets running - a 7 horse win accumulator and a 7 horse place accumulator. If I'm right, it doesn't matter if any more win or not as the 'win' bet is down.

BUT, you have 4 placed horses out of 4 so you need the last 3 to be placed. If they make it, you could win a very nice sum indeed.

Good luck [^][^][^]

Fingers crossed for the last race.

cheers fellas.

BoroLewis Posted on 15/03/2011 16:56
The official CHELTENHAM Thread

I hope your horse gets a placed, 1st 4 is what is needed, as for the favourite Definity this is the gamble of the week without doubt for Walsh and Nicholls again, as short as 5/2 now from around 7/1 or 8/1 this morning, huge gamble, if this wins then the bookies will have been smashed up in the last hour or two.

What are you suggesting I do? Im a person who has a few bets a year and dont do Betfair or understand it tbh.

WillMunny Posted on 15/03/2011 17:17
The official CHELTENHAM Thread

What they are suggesting is you could lay it (for the place) on betfair or some other exchange. This would mean you accept other's bets on it being placed. Its currently around 5/2 to be placed, so if you accept bets of £500 and it is nowhere, you've won £500.

If its placed, you would be £1,750 out of pocket, but still almost £3k up.

Its all academic as its too late now.

Best of luck mate! [^]

Funny old day for me ended up backing:

Sprinter Sacre - 3rd - looked the winner approaching the last but ran out of gas
Medermit - dissapointing
Reve de Sivola - 3rd
Menorah - beaten by better horses on the day
Sizing Australia - had to talk myself into the bet - pleased I did
Quevega - lumped on
No bet in the last despite having been told Divers was going to go close

Ended up in profit but it was hard work. Tomorrow I have:

So Young 8/1 ante post

Sizing Europe - 9/1 - course and ground in its favour I think. Put off Master Minded by the faster ground.

Quel Esprit - backed it ages ago and am just pleased Mullins kept it in this race - really don't fancy it with the ground riding obviously quicker than would be ideal

Bothy - possibly although I really like Aegean Dawn

Divine Rhapsody in the bumper - I called this one out last week - was 33/1 and has been backed into 9s - really got my fingers crossed on this one, but the bumper can be a lottery.

Good luck everyone and well done to those in profit today

320 - Master Minded [?] (depends on going)
400 - Aegean Dawn

I ended up £20 up yesterday, got 2 winners out of 7, 2 2nds in the first 2 races aswell so could of been an even better day for me.

Days selections:

1:30 - Chicago Grey
2:05 - So Young
2:40 - Aiteenthirtythree
3:20 - Master Minded
4:00 - For Non Stop
4:40 - Titan De Sarti
5:15 - Ericht

Seems a tough day today, 4 of the races seem wide open and then the champion chase looks like a tough puzzle to solve, I suppose what will make or break people today is Time For Rupert, alot of people will be lumping on him as a so called banker !

VB01 your a legend after yesterday's performance, a brilliant bet, hope that you enjoy your winnings.

I really enjoyed Cheltenham yetsreday thought it was a great day, I'm at work today though sat behind a computer, luckily I'm off for the next two days.

Does anyone know a link where you can watch the races on or are there any betting sites where you can place a bet and then be able to watch the races, I've already done all my bets in the bookies ?

1:30 - Unaccompanied 13/2
2:05 - Alaivan 9/1
2:40 - Bobs Worth 11/4
3:20 - Kauto Star 15/2 (Heart over head)
