Johnson wants the chance to speak to City

Breaking news now on SSN

borobuddah Posted on 28/01/2010 18:12
Johnson wants the chance to speak to City

The signs might be rolling around his eyes like a cartoon character playing a fruit machine.

Wonder what makes him think he'll get a game for them?

Money rules!

Johnson wants the chance to speak to City

Like its been said before, money has ruined football [sad]

I'm not entirely sure how the more cynical element of our support will take to Adam Johnson being a direct replacement for Robinho.

Why doesnt the little rat go speak to em then, hes out of contract at the end of season hes free to speak to any1.. just not in relation to the bid they made

I think he's daft to go there, but you can't blame the lad.

You never know, if he gets a chance in their first team, he might do well. He'll be playing with much better players, so he can only improve.

cannot surely think he will get his game over
Bellamy and Petrov

Who can blame him chance to join the richest club in the world and win major honours, he is too good for the championship and I wish him every success.

If you were a Boro lad playing for Sunderland / Newcastle and Man City came in would you want the chance to talk to them?

I would. And Sunderland and Newcastle are nowhere near as bad as we are at the moment...

He's out of contract in the summer...i would've thought he didn't need our permission to talk to them if he really wanted to.

He may do alright at City.

Here, we cannot afford to carry passengers, and everyone has to give 100% for us to win; at City he would have 4? 5? class players doing all of the donkey work for him - doing his tackling, marking, tracking back etc.

Big problem he will have is that he is up against good players every week - and his PL performances suggest he is a long way off being ready.

He wants to go, let him - as long as we screw City for as much as possible (like Everton did with Lescott). Just hope we don't simply cave in and accept a reasonable offer.

And have time to get a replacement - or would that be too sensible?

Gibson will take nothing less than 10 million from City so let the bidding commence, we wont get that type of money at a tribunal in the summer, he is off so lets get what we can.

Can't blame him, who would turn a move down like that?

SirHumptyofDumpty Posted on 28/01/2010 18:35
Johnson wants the chance to speak to City

Mattriach, the point is there is no offer on the table because we've rejected it. He's trying to engineer a move by putting pressure on us to accept their bid.

player power yet again [V]

Trouble is we are running out of time to replace him if he goes. We need his intentions stated clear if he is off, and we need to start the process of getting his replacement in NOW.

Who could replace him?

Wes Hoolahan
Darren Ambrose
Charlie Adam

Get cash for him and have him back on loan until the end of the season.
Its an awful footballing move; Martin Petrov is miles better than AJ and he doesnt even start for City.

I would want to talk to them as well no brainer chance to play for richest club in world and eventually win medals

Remember, this is the same Adam Johnson that for years under Downing said, hes not bothered about money and just wants first team football.

We're selling him and getting him back on loan for the rest of the season
