Gibson is a clueless football man

A good business man yes a footballing man no.

This was proved beyond doubt over his silly remarks regarding Stockton & Sunderland fans.

Also giving Southgate a 5 year deal give your head a shake Mr Gibson.

Anybody who knows football can look at Alves career and know he can come good you don't get in the Brazil team if your a bad player.

Look at Forlan at Man U how many games did it take him to score is he was he a bad player ? i don't think so.

Alves is lacking confidence because he is working under a clueless manager who dropped him when he started scoring goals last season.

He is being forced out of the club because of his wages at a loss of 7 million in transfer fees he should be forced to play and he will score goals in this league making him worth more to sell in January or at the end of the season giving us time to find a replacement.

Gibbo should act now and do something before all his hard work over the years go down the drain.

He scored FOUR league goals last season. FOUR goals. How can you say he was dropped 'when he started to score'. He never started to score.

He might have done OK for a few games, but he was missing good chances on a regular basis. After that miss at Villa I think he lost it, and I think the team lost their confidence in him.

I don't think Gareth had any choice but to drop him. He just wasn't doing it.

Personally, I hope he does well somewhere - anywhere - else, but it's time to move on. He's not going to be a success at Boro and it's best just to realise that and cut our losses.

The Alves thing in nonsense, he got too any starts, it's Mido who should have played more.

As for Gibson - I suspect he actually knows too much about football, which leads to interference and being involved in identifying players, i.e. Alves.

Can Steve Gibson play football? I know he plays a lot of 5 a side and plays (or played) in Singapore with Slaven. Does he play like a dangerous uncordinated geek or is quite a midfield dynamo that no-one dare tackle?

I know a few players would say are decent players even a couple who play northern league and apart from being decent players they no nothing about the game in depth and don't even watch much football.
I also know a couple that do so that means nothing the man has become a suit wearing yuppie who hasn't got a clue about the game Lamby is the same they should get a decent Manager in and have no input whatsoever apart from the money side and business side.

I don't doubt Gibson knows his football.. the reason why we're in the s**t is because the moneys ran out. It's as simple as that really.

Played against Gibson many a time when he was playing for Bulkhaul and always got the impression he probably wouldn't be playing unless he owned the company [;)]

I think Keith Lamb played a few games at centre half as well, believe it or not.

Steve Gibson should come on here and post -

"Any of you whinging XXXXXXs with more money than me, who is willing to put more than I have into Boro, please buy me out. Or shut the fook up 'cos you really don't understand how Boros, Bulkhauls, or other funding / finance streams are working"

23 Million in the bank why sell Alves and lose over 7 Million when we haven't got a tall forward fair enough if we had brought a decent replacement in.
Forget last season look at his career the man can score goals and got himself into the Brazil team.
Ask Herenveen fans if he is a decent goal scorer or not.
I am confident Alves could have been the key to promotion this season and also boosting his value in the process.
